FormSprint Power PDF
Power PDF provides IBM i (AS/400 iSeries) PDF and TIFF conversion of FormSprint output such as invoices, statements, purchase orders and reports.
Printing to PDF or TIFF is automatic with form processing and files are placed in a fixed or variable user-definable directory under the IFS. Complete forms or only specified form pages can be converted and form pages can be converted or printed based on variable spool file data.
File names may be fixed or variable or a combination. For example, a file name could be a combination of fixed text such as "PO" and the PO number from the spool file.
Reports can be converted to PDF files and placed in a directory where users can access them. The user can decide to print the full report, just certain pages or simply retain the report in PDF format.
Power PDF works with the FormSprint archive data base system to provide on-screen viewing of
retrieved records. It also works with FormSprint Power Email to email the retrieved document as an email attachment with just a few key-strokes..
Power PDF even helps in form application development by displaying merged form and data on the screen automatically rather than printing it. This cuts down on trips to the printer when testing things like conditional printing. Since Power PDF supports color, viewing the form on-screen automatically makes color palette development faster.
