FormSprint Power Email
Power Email automatically emails IBM i iSeries AS/400 purchase orders, invoices, statements, reports and other forms and documents as PDF attachments.
Emailing is automatic with form processing and complete forms or only specified form pages can be emailed. Variable spool file data can be used to print or email conditionally. Important data such as a recipient email address not present in the spool file can be extracted from a database file.
Email recipient, sender, subject and other essential email parameters can be constant as specified in an email template or variable based on spool file data. Comments drawn from spool file data can be included in the body of the email. HTML can also be included in the body of the email.
FormSprint forms can be set up for batch emailing. For example, let's say of 100 invoices produced during a day, 20 of the invoices were for one customer. Rather than emailing 20 different invoices to the customer as they are produced through the day, batch emailing would send one email containing 20 invoices to the customer.
The Power Email menu includes options for viewing sent and failed email either by All or by user. A log detail screen reveals additional information about an email such as why an email failed. If the email was successfully sent, the log will display all the pertinent information, including the IP address that confirmed delivery.
Attachment names may be fixed or variable or a combination. For example, an attachment name could be a combination of fixed text such as "PO" and the PO number from the spool file.
Reports can be emailed to recipients based on a fixed distribution list or spool file variable data. The recipient can decide to print the full report, just certain pages or simply retain the report in PDF format.
Power Email works with the FormSprint archive data base system to provide emailing of retrieved documents with just a few key-strokes.
Power Email can also be used to email other files, including CSV files created by FormSprint.
